I'm learning something about myself: apparently, I like listening to sci-fi audiobooks when moving. Anyways! Binti is another excellent book to listen to while moving, on an airplane, or in a car. Okorafor's writing is evocative and filled with cultural references that build throughout the series. It's a coming-of-age story, of being the first Himba woman in a new academic environment (in space!). Okorafor is very attuned to Binti's sensitive emotional and cultural navigation of the world. I don't want to spoil anything, but it's definitely worth listening to or even reading (my entry point for this work), if you have the capacity later on.
