Caregivers (parents who do not work outside of the home or do but do not make a living wage, those taking care of elderly folks and people with disabilities, people caring for trans folks recovering from gender affirming surgeries, your house cleaner and the person who does your laundry, your dog walker and shelter worker and nanny and day care person and and and) should automatically receive gov subsidized health care that covers vision + dental (teeth and eyes are not optional!) and a living wage. People who are on zoom meetings all day talking about how to reorganize digital folders also deserve health care yet people who are doing vital physical labor are under compensated and uninsured. Make that make sense and just advocate to make sure that caregivers across sectors have what they need to stay alive and do their work. Caring Across Generations is linked here because they are doing deep activist and advocacy work for caregivers and our communities.
